Always a good time...

A very busy few weeks are ahead of us.  First off we have been practicing for this Friday at the Good Bar in Ventura.  This set will be quite different from our regular one since it will be almost three hours long compiling songs from our first release "Destroy the World Before Bedtime" all the way up to "The New Piracy".  Practicing songs like "Flow" and "Castle in the Sky" has been fun, sometimes you forget how much you like playing certain songs.

Unwritten Law just asked us to open for them March 12th at the Roxy for their show with 98.7fm.  Pretty excited, and it should be a lot of fun.

Right after which we rock St Patty's day at the Key Club for a free show with our friends in Culprit... this is also all between getting ready for the release of 'The New Piracy'.  Should be an exciting few weeks...

Lights! Camera! Acoustic Action!

We rocked the sound stages of Beta Records TV in Hollywood California for a two-song acoustic performance and interview that we look forward to seeing sometime in April. Here is a behind the scene preview of the performance. Everyone there was super cool and they do great work in addition to their impressive collection of vinyl and vintage juke boxes. Check out some of their past episodes here while we wait for ours to hit the airwaves.

We hope to see y'all in Redondo Beach tomorrow night @ Killkenny's and keep St.Patty's day open because we will  be announcing a very special *FREE* show for all your dunkin shinanigan-having pleasure!!!

At the Echo...

Last night I went to go see We Barbarians over at the Echo in Echo Park.  I had discovered them when I saw them opening for Cold War Kids at the Glasshouse.  Great band and they have an incredible live sound.  Got to the venue just in time to see the last few songs from The Union Line.
LESANDS was up next.  I had only heard of them a few weeks ago when I saw them open for Foster the People and was quite impressed.  They changed up their set and kept the audience's attention for the entire set, a tough feat now a days.  They have a free EP you can download off their site.  Needless to say they were great and led in well to the headliner We Barbarians.
It takes a lot to blow me away musically but We Barbarians did just that.  Not only are they great musicians but their live sound it close to perfect.  I highly recommend checking them out live if you get the chance.
Tonight you can catch me at Origami Vinyl checking out Chasing Kings at 8pm

Happy Weekend...

Weekend Whisky.

Well I don't know about you guys but we had a pretty good weekend. Friday we had practice and afterwards got together to watch Tosh.0 which is the band's latest favorite show to watch.
Saturday we performed our first show of the new year at The Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood. It was a trip only because the last time we performed there the band was still called Section 8. We had a good time catching up with Chris from Strung Out and the boys in Thousand Watt Stare, who killed it during their set.
Sunday consisted of a lot of eating and laziness as we watched the Laker/Celtics game followed by the Pro Bowl. Thanks to everyone who came out to the Whisky, you guys made it a fun night for all of us. Last but not least, to all you Celtics fans out there, we'll get you next time! Take care peeps.
